Family values are beginning to change more and more every year. Even at a young age there is more time spent on the computer or with new technology devices such as, the ipod4 cell phone texting and playing games. Many parents today use the excuses like: As a family we’re too busy, or I have two jobs, or my kids are teens they don’t want to be seen with around with parents.
It is true that time has changed in some aspects, yet the family unit is the source of all future accomplishments in life. Just taking the time to spend that little quality time together is what makes new upcoming adults make wiser decisions in life. At an early age children should know that parents and other family members care about them. Showing them personal interest with family time can help.
There are many different ways to incorporate fun family time. Activities like coloring, arts and craft time with your children at a young age is a great way to peak their creative development. Tea parties for young girls can have a great memory tucked away for children as well. Taking long walks or hikes can not only give you and your child exercise but give them the appreciation of nature. Camping is another way to gain more appreciation for nature and learn to relax; this shows television and work aren’t always the most important things in life. In winter there will be times to get out and have fun. Yet, there’s the joy of baking homemade cookies and hot chocolate while playing a board game together. This gives smiles to everyone in the family.
